Modals + bare infinitive
Modals like will, can, should, must — and semi-modals like would rather, had better — are followed by the base verb (e.g. will go, can buy, would rather stay), not past, third-person -s, or '-ing'.

Verb and modal forms for past time
For ability in the past, use could or could not instead of can or cannot. For a finished action with yesterday, ago or last week, use a past form, not will/shall + verb.
- B1
Double Modals
Do not stack modal verbs like 'will can'. Use phrases like 'will be able to'.
